Group Therapy

Therapy groups are usually organized around a particular issue and average 6 to 8 participants in a group. In a group setting, participants are able to provide support and feedback to one another in a safe environment. It provides the opportunity to have confidential discussion of personal issues with feedback from a therapist and other group members. It’s also effective for clients who are working on their relationship skills and helps clients relate to others who share similar life experiences. We offer a range of therapy groups that focus on specific emotional and/or behavioral needs of children, adolescents, and adults.

We offer the following groups to adults

  • Anger Management – Helpful for individuals struggling with managing negative emotions and who act out in angry outbursts. Focuses on decreasing aggressive behaviors, de-escalating emotional outbursts, and improving relationships. This group is also offered to children and adolescents.
  • Trauma-Focused CBT Group – Utilizes a variety of empirically supported treatment models to address significant emotional problems including PTSD, fear, anxiety, and/or depression related to traumatic life events.
  • Process/Support Group – In a safe environment, allows individuals to openly discuss troubling issues, such as grief and loss and adjustment to life changes. Receive support and constructive feedback from group members.
  • Support for Parents of Special Needs Children – Provide support and guidance to parents and family members of children with special needs to discuss the daily stresses and share common issues.
Forensic Services

Forensic psychology is a specialty within the areas of clinical, counseling, neuropsychological, and school psychology that involves an active engagement with the legal system to provide expert opinion. These services include court-ordered evaluations, specialized mental health treatment and evaluations to children, adolescents, and adults.

Assessment Services

Psychological testing is the foundation of how psychologists better understand a person and their behavior. It is a process of problem solving to try and determine the core components of a person’s psychological or mental health problems, personality, IQ, or some other component(s). It is also a process that helps identifies not just weaknesses of a person, but also their strengths.

We offer the following assessments

  • Comprehensive Psychological Evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults
  • Psycho-Educational testing for ADHD, autistic spectrum disorders, learning disorders, and gifted/talented children
  • Developmental Evaluations

Reasons for Psychoeducational Testing

  • Lack of progress in school
  • Lagging behind peers in reading, math, or writing
